You are so very welcome Mike! I cannot even begin to express the joy I felt that day and the joy it brings up in my heart even today when I think of it. My parents were truly special to create that memory for me.

What a wonderful story! A story to be remembered a story that should be practiced in every family, and a story that should be told! The family is the greatest treasure we have in this life. I remember the song: "Precious Memories, How They linger........" One cannot put a price on these priceless memories. I hope they linger.........

Thank you so much for this wonderful post! It made my day!

Amen Golda! I just kept watching this video in tears, wondering 1. What are the parents of this child doing to help him, or do they even know how much pain he is in, and 2. What are the parents of the bullies doing or not doing to foster this kind of mean spirit in their children? and 3. What can we as a society do to help educate our youth of the damaging effects of bullying?

That video just broke me completely down into a puddle of tears. Parents! We must love our children as they are, just as we want to be loved and accepted. For this child to be in so much pain that he's cutting himself in the 2nd grade is insane! I am thankful that he is still alive. Hurting people hurt others and it starts in the home. Let's do a better job there and groom our children for success.

Hi Lori-

I absolutely love this! I agree with everything you've written here and do most of these with my two children. They are 7 & 9 and I allow them to do for themselves what they can. My daughter enjoys cooking breakfast for her and her brother and I love it. They can do laundry. When they receive presents, the rule is something has to go because we don't do clutter!

We do community service. I keep a personal gratitude journal, hadn't thought of keeping a family gratitude journal but we do have a family goal chart. I could go on but it's refreshing to see other parents who are also grooming their children for success!
